Health Reform
The lack of insurance has a tremendous impact on the financial, physical and mental health of New Mexicans. NMHA is strongly supportive of health reform efforts that include universal coverage. However, reform needs to go beyond coverage and include improvements in healthcare delivery. In our state, healthcare access is a critical factor compounded by an inadequate supply of healthcare professionals. In addition to our input to state reform, we support the principles advanced on a national level in the Health for Life Framework.
