Vision Statement
The New Mexico Hospital Association (NMHA) is the authoritative, knowledgeable voice for its members and sought out as the leader in developing public policy and addressing issues that affect the health of the citizens of New Mexico.
Mission Statement
NMHA, a voluntary membership organization, represents its membership on legislative, regulatory and public policy issues. NMHA works with its members and others to improve the health status of the citizens of New Mexico.
Guiding Principles
- NMHA takes a leadership role in state and national legislative arenas and in public policy development to promote, and advocate for, the common good and collective interests of its members.
- NMHA is an authoritative, knowledgeable and reliable voice for its members and a source for hospital data that is used in public policy development and legislative initiatives.
- NMHA will promote cooperative, collaborative efforts among its members and others.
Strategic Initiatives
- Develop and advocate for solutions to New Mexico’s uninsured problem.
- Work in partnership with others to preserve and enhance financing and reimbursement for New Mexico hospitals in order to sustain a viable hospital delivery system.
- Work collaboratively with others to address New Mexico health care workforce issues.
- Enhance public trust in New Mexico’s hospitals and health systems by:
- Promoting a culture of patient safety
- Promoting transparency
